I came through an MCS and a NAVTTC full-stack program, then straight into real products: accounting software where every transaction had to balance, and now healthcare and education apps at Microkosm.

I care about the quiet parts — schemas, transactions, auth rules — because that's where apps usually break. Same mindset when I put something on AWS or call an AI API: make it useful, keep it safe, and don't overbuild. See the case studies and architecture notes.

Philosophy

How I think about engineering

  • Correctness first

    Data integrity is non-negotiable. Transactions, constraints, and validation belong in the design from day one — not bolted on after the first bug report.

  • Boundaries matter

    Whether it's a layered monolith or microservices, clear boundaries between UI, domain logic, and data access are what keep a system changeable a year later.

  • Performance is a feature

    Indexes matched to real query patterns, caching where it counts, and payloads that carry only what the screen needs. Fast software is respectful software.

  • Simple over clever

    The best code is the code a teammate can read at 5 pm on a Friday. I optimize for maintainability and reach for complexity only when the problem demands it.

A disciplined loop from understanding the problem to keeping the solution healthy in production.

  1. Understand

    Domain, users, constraints — before any code.

  2. Design

    Schema, API contracts, and service boundaries.

  3. Develop

    Clean, typed, reviewable increments.

  4. Test

    Validate behavior and edge cases.

  5. Optimize

    Profile queries, cache hot paths.

  6. Deploy

    CI/CD pipelines, repeatable releases.

  7. Maintain

    Monitor, refine, and keep it healthy.
